On X (formerly known as Twitter), you can post text, images, and videos.
When you post an image, you can add a description to it, also known as alt text.
Alt text allows your image to be accessible to blind or low-vision people.
It also helps search engines and people to understand the image’s context.
In this quick guide, you’ll learn how to add alt text on Twitter/X to images on your posts (image descriptions).
How to Add Alt Text on Twitter (X)
Here’s how to add alt text on Twitter:
- Tap on the “+” icon to add a new post.
- Choose the image that you want to add from your photo library.
- Tap on the “+ALT” icon.
- Enter the alt text into the “Image description” field.
- Tap on “Post” to post the image with the alt text!
After you’ve posted the image, users will see an “ALT” icon when they expand the post.
When someone clicks on the icon, they’ll be able to see the description of the image.
