Counter-Strike 2 recently introduced the “On The Other Hand” update.
The update includes multiple quality of life improvements from UI to gameplay.
Players can now switch their weapon between the left and right hand.
You can also change your preferred handedness in the settings menu.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to switch or change hands in CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) to left or right weapon handedness temporarily or permanently.
How to Change Hands in CS2
To change hands in CS2, press “H” on your keyboard to temporarily switch your handedness.
If you want to change from right to left hand permanently, you need to set your preferred handedness in your settings.
Method 1: Press “H” in game
To change from right to left hand in game, press “H” on your keyboard.
This will make your player switch the hand in which they are holding their weapon.
However, after you die and respawn, your weapon will be switched to your original hand.
Note: This method allows you to switch hands temporarily mid-round.
Method 2: Set your preferred handedness
- Press “Esc” on your keyboard and go to your settings.
- Select “Game” and scroll down to “Item”.
- Change the “Preferred Viewmodel Left/Right Handedness setting (e.g from Right to Left).
Note: This is a permanent hand change.
Method 3: Switch hands using the console
- Press “Esc” on your keyboard and go to your settings.
- Select “Game” and select “Yes” next to “Enable Developer Console”.
- Press ~ on your keyboard to open the developer console.
Note: This is a temporary hand change.
