How to Turn Off Sound When Scrolling on Facebook

To turn off sound when scrolling on Facebook, you need to turn off “In-app sound” in your media settings.

To do so, open the Facebook app > Menu > Settings > Media > In-app sound > Off.

Step 1: Go to your settings

  1. Open the Facebook app and select “Menu”.
  2. Tap on the gear icon on the top right to open your settings.

Step 2: Navigate to “Media”

  1. Scroll down until you reach the “Preferences” section.
  2. Tap on “Media” in the section to open your media settings.

Step 3: Turn off “In-app sound”

  1. Under “Sounds”, you’ll see an “In-app sound” setting.
  2. Turn off the “In-app sound” setting.
  3. You’ve successfully turned off the scrolling/refreshing sound effect on Facebook!
