How to Disable End to End Encryption on Messenger

End to end encryption on Messenger is an extra layer of security to your messages and calls.

Your messages and calls will be protected when it leaves your device and reaches the receiver’s device.

In other words, nobody can see or listen to what’s sent or said except for you and the receiver.

On Facebook Messenger, this feature is known as a secret conversation.

In some cases, you or the receiver might have accidentally started a secret conversation.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to turn off or disable end to end encryption on Messenger on Android/iPhone and chat normally.

Why does my Facebook Messenger say end-to-end encrypted?

Your Facebook Messenger say end-to-end encrypted because it’s a secret conversation.

This can happen if you or the receiver accidentally or deliberately started a secret conversation.

A secret conversation will secure and protect your messages and calls.

However, you cannot report video or audio calls on Messenger or Facebook chat.

To disable end to end encryption on Messenger, you need to open a regular chat with the user.

To do so, you need to search for the user on Facebook and tap on the “Message” button on their profile.

One conversation is an end-to-end encrypted chat while the other conversation is a regular chat.

When you tap on the “Message” button on a user’s Facebook profile, it’ll open a regular chat with them on Messenger.
