To search for the key near the mouth of the spring in Genshin Impact, you need to defeat the Bacterial Mats using the Armored Crab’s ability.

After you’ve defeated all of the Bacterial Mats, the current will subside, and you can swim to the stone altar and interact with it.

Here’s how to do this (expand the screenshots above):

Dive underwater, find the Armored Crab, and take its ability.
Use the ability to absorb the Bacterial Mats’ attacks and shoot back.
Use the current in the cavern to get to the other side.
Defeat the Bacterial Mat there, swim back into the cavern, and interact with the stone altar.

After you’ve interacted with the stone altar, a cutscene will play.

You’ll be teleported to the shore where you’ll have to fight Vishap.
