Fix 1: The ship you’re creating is at a higher class than your low level reactor. You need a stronger reactor, Habs, and Storage. To build a Class C Ship (highest class) and a powerful reactor, level up Piloting to level 4. To do this, join Vanguard in New Atlantis and replay Flight Simulator multiple times.
